Who is responsible
The BackupBell validation project is an independent, UK-based product-research project and is responsible for the waitlist information collected on this site.
What we collect
If you join, we store the email address, user type, short description of the backup destination and beta-test interest that you choose to submit, plus the date and broad referral source.
The site also keeps aggregate counts by day and broad referral source. It does not store IP addresses, device fingerprints, advertising identifiers or a person-level browsing history for this measurement.
Why we use it
We use these details to measure whether genuine backup users want this product and, with your consent, to invite suitable volunteers to product research or a private beta. Joining is optional and no payment is involved.
Where it goes
The information is stored by the infrastructure providers that host this site and its database. It is not sold, shared for advertising, or added to an unrelated marketing list. This site does not use advertising trackers, analytics cookies or third-party analytics.
A short-lived session-storage flag helps avoid counting the same page repeatedly in one browser session. It contains only the broad source code, is not sent to an advertising service and normally disappears when that browser session ends.
How long we keep it
Entries are valid for 180 days from signup. Older entries are excluded from product-validation use and the service deletes expired records during subsequent waitlist activity. You can remove yours sooner below.
Your choices and rights
You can withdraw consent and delete the entry below. Rejoining with the same email updates its role and backup description. UK data-protection rights may also include access, correction, restriction, objection and a complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Product boundary
The proposed Windows application is not operating through this page. This notice does not claim that a future desktop product exists or has completed a formal legal review.
